The Authority recently completed its second full year of long-term monitoring and reporting in the Towaliga River Basin. In 2007, the Authority completed a Watershed Assessment Program and Plan for the Towaliga River basin in Butts County. Water analysis continues on four stream sites on Cabin Creek, Brushy Creek, and the Towaliga River. Quarterly analysis is being carried out for bacteria, in situ characteristics, and water chemistry.
The Towaliga basin is particularly significant it is bisected by the Interstate 75 corridor and includes both the Stewart Water Treatment Plant and the Bucksnort Ranch Land Application System.
