October 28, 2016 – The Georgia Department of Community Affairs has approved a $500,000 Community Development Block Grant under its Employment Incentive Program to provide water and sewer improvements for the new Dollar General Southeast Distribution facility being constructed on Jackson Road off GA Hwy. 16. The Authority will use these funds to extend a larger water main on Jackson Road and to tie the facility into existing sewer lines of GA Hwy. 16. This project is a combined effort of the Water and Sewer Authority, Butts County, the Butts County Industrial Development Authority and partnering agencies in Spalding County. Thanks to State Senator Burt Jones and State Representatives Susan Holmes and David Knight for their support of this grant.
